I don’t really watch the Academy Awards for the films, the artists, or even the fashion. I watch it for the excitement and the feeling of impending springtime it’s come to represent. It really is a show that brings more than the sum of its parts! In honor of the season, I’m bringing you some of my favorite fancy, mid century vintage gowns, all in spring pinks and greens.
The first is a beautiful full-length gown by Emma Domb of California. This beautiful spring green tulle dress has beaded floral appliques on the skirt and bodice, making it fancy enough for a red carpet.
Here’s another Emma Domb, this time in a peachy pink nylon! I love how delicate the sleeves are!
Following the pink theme is this amazing nylon prom dress/ball gown. It has a delicate tuft pattern tucked into the bodice, accented with little silver beads. Like the pink Emma Domb, it has the nifty back scarves.
Ending on another green note is this great Don Miguel lace gown, which I’ve accessorized with a 1940s dress clip. The underlayer is a celadon green and the lace is a lovely cocoa-brown.
Wow! that first green net one with the appliques is absolutely gorgeous! I adore it! The second pink one is still the most beautifully fitting dress on you I’ve ever seen! Lovely stuff! 🙂
Thank you, boo!
All of these are amazing dresses! You look gorgeous in them! My favorite are the first two Emma Domb ones!
Thanks doll! Great job as always on your blog.
