After a run of good luck with the Anastasia brow powder and setting gel, I started craving something different. My Anastasia powders were getting gooey and hard to use and the color was a little too warm for me, so I gave Bulletproof Brows by Too Faced a try.
I tend to like Too Faced products so this was a pretty easy sell. That said, previous success is no indication of future satisfaction, so I decided to give this one several tries before I reviewed it. Short story shorter, I wasn’t disappointed.
Bulletproof Brows is creamy and easy to apply. It dries down to a nice, powdery finish that lasts a very long time. The consistency and color (“Universal Brunette” – the lighter option is “Universal Taupe”) are perfect, which is kind of surprising given that there are only two options at the moment. The product matches my hair beautifully, filling in and defining as well as any powder I’ve used. Best of all, it does all of this without creating a waxy buildup or pulling out fine hairs like some brow pencils do.
I understand that the Anastasia DIPBROW pomades work similarly, but I haven’t had the opportunity to try them yet. The DIPBROW pomades are cheaper ($18) than Bulletproof Brows ($30) and you get more in the pot. That said, the Too Faced set comes in a mirrored compact with a double-ended brush while the other does not. At the end of the day, the choice comes down to how well the products work for you and whether you need application tools. As soon as I’ve tried the Anastasia pomades, I’ll give an update!
Both Bulletproof Brows and DIPBROW are available at places like Ulta and Sephora.
Any review on how the dipbrow pomade compares?
Not yet. 🙂 I’m still using the Too Faced, and alternating with the Anastasia powders.
